Month of Thanksgiving - Day 2

John 3:14-18
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16 is probably the best known verse in the bible. But being familiar with the words doesn’t mean that we fully comprehend the full meaning of the words. Often times, the truth can be overlooked.

Please read the verse again: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” These 26 words bring hope to you and me who used to be condemned! It begins with God and ends with life. If you know nothing about the bible, start here; if you know everything about the bible, return here.

God loves you! God loves you enough to give his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. What would it mean for you if you believed this enough to live like the one who is loved by God?

For me, the answer is to give praise and thanks to Him.

How about you?
